Fortunately, a heroic shepherd dog protected them against sharp claws. The dog in question is a Kangal, a breed of dog that originated in Turkey and is mainly found in Central Asia. The breed is quite rare in the United States because of Turkish export restrictions to preserve the breed’s pedigree. They are often tasked with guarding and protecting free-grazing herds in mountainous terrain where there are many ᴘʀᴇᴅᴀᴛᴏʀs (especially wolves). During work, the dog and the sheep also have a certain connection, it not only herds the sheep but also ʟɪᴠᴇs with them. This might explain why sheep care so much about their guardians. In the picture, we see that a sheep is interested in asking the dog, the hero just chased the wolves away. These Kangal dogs can grow up to 85 cm tall and weigh up to 65 kg.
