At 119 years, Kane Tanaka(田中カ子) is one of the oldest people to have lived. She was born on January 2, 1903. She is the third oldest person which has been verified and is the oldest Japanese person ever. Tanaka claims she was born on December 26th, 1902, and that her parents did not file the birth report as she was born prematurely and thought she would die. Tanaka has also gone through some tough medical conditions in her life too such as parathyroid fever at 35, pancreatic cancer at 45, and colorectal cancer at 103, in which she overcame all of these ailments and survived. She keeps herself occupied by going on walks and completing mathematics. She credits her long life to good food and staying positive. Tanaka's long life span has opened the debate that a human's potential maximum lifespan at this moment in time is between 115-125 years old. Tanaka passed away in April 2022
